Big Creek is located in the North Carolina section of Great Smoky Mountain National Park. There is a small campground and ranger station and a great trail.
The trail follows an old railroad grade so it a fairly gentle climb. The trail mostly follows Big Creek which was on roaring cascade when we were there in early May.

Big Creek can be reached off of HWY out of Cosby TN or off exit exit 451 on I40 Just before the NC, TN line. If you have a large RV, you probably won't be able to make a couple of the curves on 32 so exit 451 is the way to go. When we were driving to Big Creek, we passed a couple pulling a travel trail parked by the road debating if they could make the curve--they couldn't.
