Paddling East Branch Lake

East Branch Lake is a reservoir at Elk State Park in Elk County, Pennsylvania. It was constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers by damming the East Branch of the Clarion River. The dam is used to control water quality below the dam and is often subject to dry season releases to meet downstream need.

When we were there the water level in the lake was low, but not too low. This is a popular place for boating in the summer. We were there in late September and had the place to ourselves.

We didn't see any wildlife. Not even a small bird.
