Off Road Arches National Park

Our first morning Arches National Park was spent on a 4x4 tour of the off road portion of the park. The trip was provided by Tag-A-Long Expeditions. Our guide and 4x4 driver was great and interesting to talk to. Most of the time was spent in the 4x4 driving our places that no one without great skill would attempt. We enjoyed the trip, but wished that there had been more opportunities to stop and enjoy the sights. Probably part of the reason for lack of time was that the driver was trying to get us to an afternoon trip.

We saw an interesting set of dinosaur tracks. We had seen a similar set of tracks in the museum in Raleigh, NC. The tracks were of two different dinosaurs. Evidently one was tracking the other. Probably looking for dinner.

The tour took us up some very steep rocky areas that were fun to do. We did get stuck once and the driver had to get out and shovel sand away so we could get back on our way.

The off road view of Arches National Park was worth the trip. If we were to do it again, we'd make sure that we had more time.
