The Wind Cave in Wind Cave National Park is one of the largest cave systems in the world. The Wind Cave is a three dimensional maze with miles and miles of passage ways stacked in three dimension. The Cave is densest cave system in the world.
Box work
Instead of stalactites and stalagmites, Wind Cave has the world's largest collection of the formation called box work. The box work may not be as spectacular as stlactites and stalmagites but the intricate feature of box wood have their own beauty.
There are numerous tours of the cave. All the tours are ranger led. One of the tours takes you away from the developed trails in the cave.
