Denali National Park
Denali or Mount McKinley Denali National Park, Alaska
When we first starting planning our Alaskan Cruise, a land trip to Denali National Park was the one absolute requirement. We realized that we really wouldn't have much time to explore in the park. But we figured that we could at least get a favor of the place. We were not disappointed.

We arrived in Denali in the late afternoon, and had a little time to expolore the area around the lodge. The highlight of the evening was a great display of the northern lights. This is really something that we don't see in North Carolina.
The next day we boarded a bus, the only way you can travel in Denali National Park, for a naturalist lead excursion through part of the park.
This was a great experience. We saw moose, Dall Sheep, rabbits, and best of all grizzly. One of the sheep came right up to the bus.

And of course the scenery around you is wonderful. Views of Delali and the other mountains are beautiful and worth the school bus ride. Even without the bears.
